It’s so weird having to take care of two little girls. The most experience I’ve had with kids is limited to just JP, but I always shy away from being responsible for him, and for all other kids for that matter. Like whenever Yang has to go do laundry up on the fifth floor, I always tell her to hurry back because I don’t want to be alone with JP.
But I just realized how amazing it is to be responsible for other people aside from yourself, even if it’s just for a short while. Everything you do and say will have some sort of effect on them, and the people they’ll become further down the road. So whenever they’re around, I really pay attention to how I’m being and what I’m saying. Words can bring forth tears (even if they’re usually fake, haha), but can also soothe a little heart.
Another thing why it’s so amazing to be responsible for kids is that you’re an audience to the cutest things they say.
Brianna: (crying and yelling at Kaylee as she stomps out of the room) I just miss Pau and I love her so much!
And she also said the other day that I was her momma here, which I thought was cute and kind of touching at the same time.
